Warwick Tyrrell is one of Australia's most accomplished musicians. He was Principal Trombonist of the LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA for three years, Outright Winner of THE INTERNATIONAL TROMBONE COMPETITION 1988 and has appeared as a Concerto Soloist with the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Queensland Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras as well as THE LONDON PHILHARMONIC in London and in South Africa. He has had concertos especially commissioned for him by the ABC to play and record. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation offered him a recording contract to record trombone concertos which went on sale Internationally. It was described as "the most exciting offering to come from the ABC CLASSICS label to date". Warwick also appeared as a concerto soloist for the BBC, the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music.
Since 1998 Warwick has pursued a career in commercial type entertainment, as a singer and actor. He gained small acting / singing roles in Professional productions of Jolson and Cabaret appearing alongside such notables as Tina Arena, Toby Allen and Rob Guest. More recently he has settled into Kid's entertainment - writing funky pop music and performing to Primary aged kids about safety issues which are relevant to them. In this capacity he travels extensively, performing in major outdoor festivals, and putting shows on as far away as Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as in Sydney.
Warwick now combines some of the "old" and some of the "new". In the past two years, he has started conducting different music groups including choirs, and bands. He is the current Music Director of the BANKSTOWN CAROLS (a large event which attracts an audience of around 10,000). Warwick is also the MD of the SUTHERLAND SHIRE BRASS - a highly accomplished group of brass musicians who regularly sell out paid concerts in large auditoriums. He was recently awarded a conducting fellowship with The Queensland Orchestra by Symphony Australia.
Warwick is very happily married to Donna and they have been blessed with four beautiful children, Benjamin, Isabella, Genevieve and Thomas .
